Space can be difficult to find on airplanes at busy holiday times. We urge you to make reservations and purchase tickets well in advance of school vacations. Students leaving early or returning late risk receiving lower grades due to losing class time and missing exams.
New boarding students are encouraged to attend New Student Orientation prior to the start of the school year. Move-in on Thursday, August 15 between 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, and spend the next three days settling-in and getting to know the Southwestern Community. If not able to attend, move-in is on Monday, August 18, 2025.
All new and returning students register at our campus and move into dormitories on Monday, August 18, 2025 (not before) between 3:00 and 6:00 pm. A family barbecue will be served at 5:00 PM.
Students may leave after exams end on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, after exams end, 3:30 p.m. (or on Thursday, December 18). Resident students should return to their dorms on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, by 8:00 p.m. Classes resume on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Students may leave after exams end on Friday, March 27, 2026 3:30 p.m. (or on Saturday, March 28). Resident students should return to their dorms on Sunday, April 5, 2026 by 8:00 p.m. Classes resume on Monday, April 6, 2026.
Students may leave after graduation programs end Friday afternoon, May 22, 2026 after 2:00 PM.
*International students may stay on campus for all or part of any holiday at no extra cost if arranged with the Student Office a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of vacation.
