Clubs

No matter what your interest, you’re sure to find a club or society where you’ll meet like-minded students who share your excitement.

  • Southwestern Interact Club Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club that gives young people an opportunity to participate in fun and meaningful service projects while developing leadership skills and meeting new friends. The basic principle of the Rotary Interact is to help others. Our motto is “service above self”. Through service activities, Interactors learn the importance of developing leadership skills and personal integrity, demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others, and advancing international understanding and goodwill. Members of the club help to develop and carry out a wide variety of service projects. Raising money for worthwhile causes, working within the school, and working directly with people in the community are a few ways Rotary Interact members are involved.

  • Southwestern International Club The International Club began in 1997 under the guidance of Qi Qi Ong, a student from Malaysia. The purpose of the club is to create a feeling of “One Big Family” among the Southwestern Academy community. We choose to pursue a better understanding of the many cultures of the world represented at Southwestern and share international experiences with each other. Some activities include off campus dinners for new tastes, and on campus international dinners and programs which enlighten the knowledge of our students. Together, we want to provide an understanding of all cultures to make ourselves better individuals in our world today. Southwestern Academy has been “One Big Family” for thousands of people for 100 years. We are proud to continue this tradition.

  • Southwestern Arts Society (SAS) The S.A.S. is a gathering place for students and staff who enjoy the Arts. S.A.S. organizes weekly hangouts as well as monthly off campus events such as theater, museum visits, music, and dance performances. The S.A.S. produces the annual ArtsFest in the spring. The main objective of the club is to bring students together to share ideas about the arts and to make lasting memories while enjoying the Arts on and off campus.

  • Southwestern Environmental Associates (SEA) The Southwestern Environmental Associates Club helps lead Southwestern Academy students to a better understanding and safeguarding of nature. SEA invites all students to join the club. We organize hikes, community clean up projects, trips off campus to environmental seminars and events, camping trips and more. We work to save water through intelligent planting and watering, and building a sustainable garden on campus. This year we want to start a composting program, continue educating on the dangers of plastic, and emphasize the need to recycle on our campus and in our homes and communities.
